O Volkswagen Golf VII foi eleito o Carro do Ano / Troféu Volante de Cristal 2013 em Portugal. Dezassete jornalistas portugueses votaram e elegeram o carro alemão que assim sucede ao Peugeot 508 que arrecadou o troféu em 2012.É o sétimo galardão para a Volkswagen. Critérios como tecnologia, design, qualidade, comportamento e condução, economia e ecologia, segurança e conforto pesaram nesta votação.
